Compete against teams from all over the country if you make it to the Finals. Each year, the finals are played at a top 100 golf resort. The 1st year was at Barton Creek in Austin Texas in December 2022. Last year was at Bandon Dunes. 2024 will be at Pinehurst in October.

Why match play?

Pro & amateur golfers alike say they prefer match play to stroke play. The stroke play format was adopted to make golf more television & advertiser friendly. Before 1958, the PGA Championship was a match-play event. Simply put, match play is more exciting and enjoyable to play.

Whether you’re already part of a group or want to meet other golfers in your area, it’s easy to get started. Season 2024 sign-up will begin February 1st.

Season 2024 sign-up are schedule to close on Juny 15.

Season 2024

The 2024 features not only the finals at Pinehurst but will include at least one round at Mid-Pines, plus one or two additional rounds there. There will be at least 4 competitive rounds, the last three at Pinehurst, including Pinehurst #2 for the final matches. We’ve also added Semi-finals at Streamsong (East) and Pebble Beach (West). Quarterfinals and Elite 8 preliminary and final rounds will be staged if there is sufficient participation. At a minimum, the Pinehurst Finals, Streamsong Semi-finals, a west quarterfinal & both east quarterfinals will be staged, no matter what level of participation occurs.

How does the NMP Tournament work?

For the 2024 season, the National Match Play Tournament will have signups open for 3 months, followed by the qualifying events organized all over the country, dependent on the number of teams. Best teams will go to the quarterfinals and semi-finals in August and September, ending with the National Finals in October to be held at the Pinehurst.

How do we participate?

Team captains are signing up through this website. As a part of the signup process, they indicate the course they will represent throughout the play. The courses get 25% of participation fees where they are named. They also get a financial award if their team wins their final match on Sunday of the National Finals at Pinehurst or is the runner-up.
